Here is the promised video from Feb. 21. The constant "rushing" noise and "cracking" pops are both wind. Just an idea of what was going on.

- My name is Chuck Richie II. In May 2010, I graduated from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology. While at NIU, I participated in the student chapter of the American Meteorological Society. I served as Vice President from 2008-2009, and I served as President from 2009-2010. In the fall of 2009, I was a forecasting intern at NIU Weather in DeKalb, IL. During my senior year, I also served as a student weather broadcaster at Northern Television Center in DeKalb, IL. My plans with this blog are to provide forecasts for Alton, IL, DeKalb, IL, and anywhere else I feel like forecasting for. I also hope to display weather pictures, tell about my adventures in the world of meteorology, and provide information when really neat things happen in the weather. The discussions on this site are done by me, for you. The links provided in discussions are for your convenience to view maps. I will try to post often, but please realize that occasionally things happen which prevent that. As these are original forecasts, pictures, and videos, please do not use them without my consent.
